When Joe Camel disappeared in 1997, he left a great void in the hearts of smokers and non-smokers around the world. Good news. There's a new smoking animal, the Frog Prince. The same fellow also known as the Frog King and Iron Heinrich? Essentially, yes. Most commonly known by its depiction in Grimms Brothers', the Frog Prince has a long folkloric history. In each tale, the princess transforms the lowly croaker back to his royal self, sometimes with a mere kiss. In harsher versions, princely restoration occurs when the princess hurls the frog against the wall—a medieval folkloric tradition thought to undo shapeshifting. In perhaps the darkest version ever told, the princess can only transform the frog into a prince by beheading him. So, what about the smoking Frog Prince version? iL Corvo brings it to light with the illustration seen on the above t-shirt.

In this lesser-known tale, the princess is sitting by a pond in the forest when she meets a former prince turned cigarette-smoking frog. The Frog Prince's condition was brought on after smoking tobacco tainted with a spell. If the princess can help him quit cigarettes, the frog explains, he will again be a hunky prince. Initially the princess refuses, only agreeing to help the Frog Prince at her therapist's urging. The road to quitting begins by entering 10 tips for quitting smoking into Google. Ultimately this overwhelms the Frog Prince, driving him to smoke even more. Next they try nicotine lozenges, gum, and an inhaler. These fail also. Eventually they try Wellbutrin, which works and transforms the frog into a prince.

Sadly, they discover no chemistry exists between them, and they part company. End of story. iL Corvo never claimed it was a good one, but this indie t-shirt is still tits anyway.
